Workers of the Potash Corp. company will submit the judicial claim

By Roberta Rampton

Workers of the Potash Corp. (NYSE:POT) - the world leading fertilizer producer - conducted an unplanned strike. 500
workers from 3 mines took part in it.

The fact that workers’ wages were not growing whereas the income of the company for the second quarter increased, gave
rise to the strike. Besides, the workers complained about regular arrears in payments and about compulsions to overtime
work from the side of their bosses.

Negotiations with the company management organized by the United Steelworkers directors were of no use, so the Union made
up a decision to battle for their interests in judicial order form. The facts of arrears in payments and overtime work
formed the main items of their statement of claim.

“We intend to obtain justice. In case of our requirements not being fulfilled we will stop working,” - said the Western
Canada director of the United Steelworkers Stephen Hunt.
