This module implements a session engine for sessions stored entirely in cookies. Usually only session id is stored in cookies and the session data itself is saved in some external storage, e.g. database. This module allows to avoid using external storage at all. Since server cannot trust any data returned by client in cookies, this module uses cryptography to ensure integrity and also secrecy. The data your application stores in sessions is completely protected from both tampering and analysis on the client-side.
Binary packages can be installed with the high-level tool pkgin (which can be installed with pkg_add) or pkg_add(1) (installed by default). The NetBSD packages collection is also designed to permit easy installation from source.
The pkg_admin audit command locates any installed package which has been mentioned in security advisories as having vulnerabilities.
Please note the vulnerabilities database might not be fully accurate, and not every bug is exploitable with every configuration.
